| Takikawa is the hometown of Takenobu Igarashi, world-famous designer and sculptor, and the source of the greatest pride of the people of Takikawa. We in Takikawa want to make the most of our biggest talent, Igarashi. Inviting Takenobu Igarashi and other lecturers through his network, we are planning to hold various events to study the meaning and necessary skills of design and art in urban design. We continue to think about the future of our own town, and hope the reports of these meetings will be helpful in finding further ideas and proposals to that end. |

Igarashi Art program, which started in 2002, has been open to Takikawa citizens and also to those who want to study design and art. We are currently planning a lecture series by some of the world’s leading designers and artists. We want to provide stimulating events and forums on design, art, music, films, architecture, drama and urban design in order to enable ordinary people to commune with the arts and share their experience with us.
